Campbell Fellowship for Transformative Research on Women in the Developing World

Eligible fields  Social sciences: psychology, education, anthropology, linguistics, history, social work, or sociology, economics, law, political science, geography or an interdisciplinary field which incorporates two or more of the mentioned disciplines.

Type of fellowship  Dissertation as finalization of applicants' research. The successful applicant for this fellowship will have completed a doctorate in anthropology, economics, geography, history, law, political science, psychology, sociology, or in an interdisciplinary field that incorporates two or more of these disciplines. Sample topics include education and socialization of girls; women’s roles in government; reproduction and women’s health; impacts of international and civil conflict on women; women’s roles in resolving conflicts or sustaining civil society; the practice and process of gender-based development; and women in science and technology.

Target group  Female doctoral level scholars from developing countries whose research both documents the circumstances of women in the developing world and offers paths to concrete, practical strategies for improving their health, prosperity, and general well-being.
